Keighley’s MP Robbie Moore has visited Addingham Primary School to meet with new Headteacher Ms Linda Spinks and take questions from pupils at the school.
Speaking to pupils during a question-and-answer session, Mr Moore spoke about his role as a Member of Parliament, the recent success of securing a new Airedale Hospital and his priorities for Addingham and the wider area.
The MP also had high praise for the local school, paying tribute to Ms Spinks for a strong start to her new position as Headteacher, with the school achieving an Outstanding rating by Ofsted in their most recent inspection, which found: “The quality of the curriculum at Addingham is exemplary. Pupils’ attitudes to learning are excellent because lessons are so fascinating and appropriately matched to what pupils need to learn next.
Moore regularly visits schools and groups across his constituency to talk to them about his experiences as an elected representative role alongside how democracy works at both a local and national level.
Commenting, Robbie Moore MP said:
“It was an absolute privilege to visit Addingham Primary School to meet their fantastic new Headteacher Ms Spinks and spend time with students to talk to them about my role as Keighley’s Member of Parliament.
Their questions were thought-provoking and it was great to see such enthusiasm about the local area from our young people, as well as to hear about what matters most to them.
Addingham Primary School has a such an excellent learning environment and from my recent visit I saw first-hand why the school received its ‘Outstanding’ Ofsted rating . My thanks go to the Headteacher, staff and pupils for such a warm welcome and I wish Ms Spinks all the best for the future in her new role.”
