Visitors to Strangers’ Bar in the Houses of Parliament will be able to order a pint of Timothy Taylor’s Landlord this month after the Keighley-based brewery were nominated for a spot on Strangers’ tap by local MP Robbie Moore.
Timothy Taylor’s CEO Tim Dewey travelled down to Westminster alongside Timothy Taylors’ Business Development Managers Dan Watson and Joe Bateman to pull a pint in the House of Commons alongside Keighley’s MP, with Timothy Taylor’s joining a coveted list of guest beers from constituencies up and down the country which have featured in Parliament’s bar.
Timothy Taylor’s first established their brewery in the centre of Keighley in 1858, moving to the Knowle Spring in 1863. Brewed in Keighley, Timothy Taylor’s Landlord is a 4.3% classic pale ale with a complex citrus and hoppy aroma and has won more awards than any other beer, winning CAMRA’s 'Beer of the Year’ for the first time in 1982 and the first ever ‘double’ for beer in 1991 as CAMRA’s ‘Beer of the Year’ and the Brewers’ Championship ‘Draught Beer Cup’.
Robbie Moore MP commented:
”I am determined to ensure Keighley is put on the map, and what better way to do it than ensure one of our finest national ales is on tap in Parliament.
Since its establishment in 1858, Timothy Taylor's has been a huge part of our community and their presence in Keighley has contributed to our town's pride and identity.
I am thrilled to see them receive recognition in Parliament, and it was great to welcome Tim Dewey and his team down to Westminster to pull the first pint."
