Businesses across Keighley and Ilkley which have not yet qualified for grants to help them through the challenges of the Covid crisis can now apply for a government-backed grant from Bradford council. This is the second round of the Local Authority Discretionary Grant Fund, and will help businesses which were unable to qualify for help in the first round.
Grants of £2500, £5000, £10,000 and £25,000 are available to businesses which have suffered a significant fall in income due to the Covid 19 crisis and have identifiable fixed property costs. Local nurseries with between 50-100 staff will also be eligible.
Small manufacturers, suppliers to the retail, hospitality and leisure sectors, enterprise centres, local charities and childcare providers who have not received a business support grant can all apply. Businesses who have previously applied for the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme or Self-Employment Income Support Scheme may also be able to apply.
The loans form part of a broader government support package to support businesses, protect jobs and assist the local economy in recovering from the impact of Covid-19.
The MP for Keighley and Ilkley, Robbie Moore, said:
“The last few months have been really tough for businesses, charities and their staff. As a government we’re taking all the steps we can to ensure that no one suffers more than they have to.
“If any business thinks they may be eligible for a grant they should email Bradford council on [email protected] or give my team a call who are always on hand to help residents and businesses in the constituency.”
Applications were taken from August 14th and will be open until Friday August 28th.
