Rugby league club Keighley Cougars have been given the go-ahead for their landmark stand redevelopment, backed by £2.25 million of direct funding from our Conservative government through the Town's Fund.
Plans for the stadium redevelopment will see the construction of a new state of the art stand , a brand new space for dance and fitness classes, a new cafe and an upgrade on the current Heritage Classroom with a media suite for young people to use!
Commenting on the news, Local MP Robbie Moore said:
“After much lobbying down in Westminster, Ministerial visits and many meetings with Ryan and Kaue, I am delighted to see that our mighty Keighley Cougars have been given the green light, receiving planning consent for their landmark stand redevelopment, which is backed by £2.25 million of direct funding from our Conservative government through the Town's Fund.
It is impossible not to recognise the massive positive impact Keighley Cougars have had on our town and the sport as a whole, championing brilliant causes both within and outside of the sport. A cornerstone of our community for nearly 150 years, it’s fantastic that Cougar Park will now be improved for the benefit of fans, players and indeed our entire community long into the future.”
