Local MP Robbie Moore has praised residents and staff at Oakworth Manor Residential Home this week after a Sports Day event was organised by the local care home team.
A host of classic Sports Day events and activities were on offer for participants, including a sack race and a three-legged race.
The care workers participated in the events with the care home residents watching the action from the sides and cheering the staff on throughout.
Joining in the fun alongside staff, Mr Moore praised the local care team for their “Olympic efforts” for residents.
Located in the heart of the village, Oakworth Manor provides assisted living for the elderly in the local area, with the home featuring 30 bedrooms.

“It was brilliant to join staff and residents at Oakworth Manor for their fantastic sports day event, which really was a testament to the Olympic efforts put in by Oakworth Manor staff on a day to day basis.
Spirits were high and it was lovely to see residents cheering the staff on. All in all, the event brought everyone at Oakworth Manor together, and I’d like to pay tribute to everyone involved in making this sports day a success, as well as all of our local care staff for the great work that they do for our loved ones.”
