Keighley MP Robbie Moore has visited Keighley Rotary Club at Central Hall to meet with its President Jonathan Smith and host a question-and-answer session with the club’s members.
High on the agenda at the Q&A were Mr Moore’s key priorities for Keighley & Ilkley in the coming months, including his efforts to secure a full rebuild of the Airedale Hospital and his desire to create a smaller unitary authority for Keighley, with other topics including the importance of securing vocational training and apprenticeships for young people across the town.
Keighley Rotary Club were established in 1934, with its first club members including a local GP, a solicitor, the manager of Keighley News, and a builder. Since then, the club have grown in numbers, with current membership reflecting a range of backgrounds and the club offering assistance to projects around the globe.
Current projects include the Women’s Refuge , End Polio Now, Mercy Ships and the Rotary Young Musician Competition.

“It was fantastic to be able to speak to the Keighley Rotary Club and meet its brilliant members, and I would like to thank Paul Milling for inviting me and the rest of the membership for giving me such a warm welcome.
It was great to speak to members about my priorities for Keighley, including pushing to secure a rebuild of Airedale Hospital and making sure that our young people have access to high quality apprenticeships and vocational training.
Whether it’s fundraising for local causes, sponsoring local events, organising competitions, or supporting our local environment, Keighley Rotary Club are devoted to ensuring that our town is a fantastic place to live.
