Organisers and participants in this weekend’s Ilkley Half Marathon have received praise from the community.
The event featured a 13.1 mile road race through the beautiful countryside of Ilkley, taking runners through scenic views of the Yorkshire Dales, challenging hills and breathtaking valleys, with all proceeds from the event going towards supporting good causes in the Ilkley area, making a positive impact on the lives of those in need.
The Half Marathon was organised by the Ilkley Round Table, a group of local volunteers who are dedicated to making a difference in their community.
Robbie Moore MP said:
A huge well done to all who took part in the Ilkley Half Marathon this weekend. It was fantastic to see such energy and enthusiasm from all, including all the supporters who lined the route.
It is always so good to see so many great causes being supported, and I’d like to pay a special tribute to Ilkley Round Table for organising the event - as a team you did a brilliant job, alongside over 200 volunteers who turned up to help.
