Ilkley’s Christmas Tree Festival, hosted at St. Margaret’s Church on Queen’s Road on the 6th and 7th of December has proved to be a dazzling success.
Nearly 2,000 attendees visited to admire the beautifully adorned Christmas trees, enjoy live music, and indulge in refreshments within the picturesque setting of the church.
Over 30 local charities, schools, and community organisations contributed by decorating their own trees, creating a dazzling and festive display.
Visitors were treated to captivating performances by the Outside the Box band, school choirs from Addingham Primary School, Westville House, Moorfield, and Ghyll Royd schools, as well as a charming performance from children of Ilkley’s Ukrainian community. Other highlights included performances by Steph and her Sax, Ilkley Singers, St. Margaret’s Choirs, and the West Yorkshire Rock Choir, all of which added to the festive atmosphere.
This year’s most popular tree, as voted by visitors, was decorated by Ilkley and Surrounds Support for Ukrainian Evacuees. In close second was All Saints’ Primary School’s tree, adorned with handmade decorations created by pupils. Every tree showcased was a testament to the dedication and creativity of the participating groups, reflecting the strength and spirit of the Ilkley community. A heartfelt thank you goes out to everyone who contributed to this heartwarming event.
