Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore has showcased his poster competition in honour of the Captain Tom 100 challenge on what would have been Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 101st birthday.
The competition was open to primary school children within the Keighley and Ilkley constituency. The brief was to design a poster based around Captain Sir Tom Moore focusing on what he achieved throughout his life, his fundraising efforts for the NHS, his and all of our appreciation and thanks for the NHS, or the many things that our key workers have sacrificed during the Covid pandemic.
Hundreds of posters were received with many now featuring in Robbie’s Keighley office window. Posters were received from Oldfield Primary School, Lees Primary School, Haworth Primary School and St Andrews Primary School.
A winner will be decided shortly. A copy of the posters will be sent to the family of the late Captain Sir Tom Moore.
Commenting Robbie Moore said: “The entries which I received are amazing. We have so many talented young artists among us. These bright and colourful posters really do encapsulate everything that Captain Tom stood for and represented. I will soon be announcing a winner for the competition.
“As we continue to ease restrictions, I hope people will visit my constituency office window on North Street to see these excellent posters.”
The window display will remain in Robbie’s constituency office window throughout May and June. The office address is Office of Robbie Moore, Shan House, 80-86 North Street, Keighley, BD21 3AG.
