It was brilliant to visit a thriving, hard working family business right in the centre of Keighley today.
Meeting with Chris Herd of C & L Herd Butchers and his team at their shop on Queen Street, Ingrow, it was great to see a family business thrive and be full of energy and optimism about their future. With all meat sourced from their own family farm or from local producers, Chris and his team sell fantastic quality cuts of meat and some of the best pies in town!!
Small businesses are the backbone of our local economy, responsible for nearly half of economic output and 60% of private sector employment.
As your MP, I will work tirelessly to support local enterprise like family businesses such as C & L Herd Butchers by making it easier for businesses to thrive. It is a tough market for small business, and that’s why one of my priorities will be to lobby for lower taxes, seek complete reform of the current business rate structure and create less regulation, all to help incentivise investment and enable businesses to go on and thrive.
