Hi Energy Fitness Studio in Keighley is safely promoting health and wellbeing in to women, despite having to make significant changes to the way they operate.
Local MP Robbie Moore recently met with operator Julie Cardus Anderson to learn how they have completely revamped their building to make using the gym, dance studio and fitness classes accessible and Covid secure.
Perspex has been hung between all the exercise machines and bikes in the spin class room, with each of the separate units equipped with its own āsanitation stationā. Specialist fans have been installed to ensure an effective flow of air through the studio and capacity has been halved from 20 users at a time to a maximum of 10.
Julie has also made accessing gym activities from home easier with a special app. It covers basic services like gym booking and payments. It also gives tips on nutrition and healthy eating and exercise classes that can be conducted at home.
In recognition of the efforts of NHS workers during the pandemic Hi Energy offers all NHS staff a discount and also provides a free t-shirt as a welcome gift.
Robbie said:
āI enjoyed meeting Julie and am very impressed by the changes she has undertaken to make Hi Energy a Covid safe, enjoyable venue to attend.
āI fully understand that the changes she has made have been difficult and expensive and the creativity it has required canāt be understated. I also respect that additional restrictions have made reopening difficult. I am doing all I can to ensure that when the data shows case levels are falling, we are easing restrictions in line with that.ā
