Local MP Robbie Moore has praised School Council members at Oldfield Primary School following a recent visit to the school.
School council members at Oldfield Primary met with Mr Moore for a Q&A session on UK democracy, discussing the workings of Parliament, the role of MPs and the importance of getting involved in the community.
Speaking after the visit, Robbie Moore MP said:
"The questions from school council members were outstanding, showing a real curiosity about how are political system works and a recognition of how local action to improve our community is so important. Oldfield Primary is a wonderful learning environment, and it was a real privilege to spend time with such a bright and enthusiastic group of pupils.
My thanks to Mr Travers and the whole team for creating such a welcoming environment for pupils and encouraging them to engage with important topics which will help inspire and educate our next generation.
I look forward to seeing the continued success of Oldfield Primary in the years to come."
