Several thousand people descended on the sun-soaked Marley showground for yesterday's event. From traditional agricultural lessons to a dog show, there was something for everyone, with various new attractions as well as some old favourites on offer. Donkey classes from the Donkey Breed Society made their debut, and there were several classes for highland cattle. The horticulture division also had over 100 programmes for both rookie and professional gardeners. A 'farmhouse choice' division was added to the cattle and sheep sections this year, with the winning animals chosen by a member of the public. SMJ Falconry brought many birds of prey for static and flying performances. Visitors could learn more about the birds, and there were interactive displays. Punch.
