Local MP Robbie Moore joined residents across Keighley and Ilkley this weekend to participate in Sue Ryder Manorlands’ thrilling “Zip the Cow” charity zip-line.
Taking place at the iconic Cow and Calf Rocks in Ilkley, participants ascended to the summit before embarking on a breathtaking 270-meter zip-line, reaching speeds of up to 35 miles per hour.
420 supporters took to the skies over Ilkley in total, raising a whopping £50,000.
Despite the bad weather, the local MP called Sue Ryder Manorlands’ event a “roaring success”, with donations and fundraising efforts going to the Worth Valley charity’s mission to provide expert, compassionate care for people with life-limiting conditions and their families.
Robbie Moore MP said:
“It was really fantastic to join residents from across our area for Zip the Cow 2023 in support of Sue Ryder Manorlands.
Despite the windy weather, the event was a roaring success - and I must say it was even more nerve-wracking in the rain!
Zip the Cow has once again proved to be such a brilliant celebration of community unity and resilience, with people of all ages and abilities coming together to champion Sue Ryder’s fantastic contribution to our area.
A huge thank you to all involved in organising this fundraiser and everyone who took part to raise moeny. I encourage everyone to donate to Sue Ryder Manorlands and the brilliant work that they do for those with life-limiting conditions in our community by visiting www.sueryder.org/donate.”
