The Worth Valley Police and Community Contact Point is a brilliant, local service run and operated by volunteers. Once one of the smallest police stations in the county, the Community Contact Point now provides local information, details for events and services, and is a place for residents and visitors to report low level crime which can be passed onto West Yorkshire Police by the volunteers.
It was great to meet with Peter Hill, one of the key volunteers who runs the centre to talk about some of the day to day enquiries, reports and conversations he has had with local residents and visitors.
People want to feel safe and protected from harm. This means getting more police back on our streets, whilst ensuring that Contact Points like Worth Valley are properly resourced. As your MP, I will ensure a strong visible police officer presence on our streets to tackle all levels of crime. This is one of my priorities.
