Local MP Robbie Moore has reacted to news that the former deputy director of children's social care at Bradford Council has pleaded guilty to possession of crystal meth and of offering to supply the Class A controlled drug to others.
Mr Moore said:
"It is shocking to think that this is who was making key decisions at Bradford Council about Children’s Services as the service area fell rapidly into decline and left children at risk of harm.
In my view, Bradford Council leaders owe the public a full explanation as to how and why this individual was selected as Deputy Director of Bradford Children’s Social Care at such a critical time. A fifty-two word press comment from the Council is quite simply not enough.
It is scandal after scandal for Susan Hinchcliffe and her team and it remains beyond belief to me just how Cllr Hinchcliffe still remains in place as leader of the Council."
