Local MP Robbie Moore has met with the Canal and River Trust to discuss the exciting plans for the upcoming construction of the new Silsden-Kildwick towpath.
The project, which was made possible through £1.8 million in funding from the previous government, will feature a widened existing route while preserving grass verges and native plants to support local wildlife. The upgrades aim to improve accessibility for those with mobility issues, as well as enhance the path surface to make it easier for residents to walk and cycle.

"It was fantastic to meet with Lizzie and Sean from the Canal and River Trust this week to discuss the upcoming construction of the new Silsden-Kildwick towpath. It is incredibly important that your opinion is heard, and I urge everyone to have their say on the new towpath proposals by visiting www.canalrivertrust.org.uk/kildwick-silsden and filling out the consultation form with their suggestions so we can see the timely delivery of this project. We also discussed the issue of unauthorised boat moorings on the canal near Riddlesden, which has been causing problems for many residents including the local Scouts who have been unable to launch their canoes because of this.
