Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore congratulates local students on their A level, AS and other level 3 qualifications successes after results were released today. Following what has been a challenging year for all students across the constituency there is delight among many students who have collected their results.
Across the country A level results have reached record highs with 44.8 per cent of students getting A* or A grades. The results for vocational and technical qualifications across all types has stayed broadly the same for all levels. Given the uncertainty caused by the pandemic, teachers were given the flexibility to draw data from a range of evidence to support their judgements.
Overall, 88.4 per cent of A level grades awarded this year are A* to C. This is compared to 87.8 per cent in 2020. A record number of students are expected to progress to university, taking the next steps towards securing exciting careers after such an extraordinary period.
Commenting Robbie Said: โI would like to congratulate all the students across the Keighley and Ilkley constituency who have received their results today. After what has been a challenging year these results are a true credit to students and shows their dedication and resilience.โ
โFor all young people, today should be a celebration of the hard work and adaptability they have shown over the last 18 months. Students should feel proud about their results this year and feel positive about embarking on the next stage of their adult life, wherever that may lead them.โ
