Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore urges young people to take up the vaccine as he receives his second dose at Airedale General Hospital. This comes as despite the success of the Covid vaccination programme – which has seen 88 per cent of people receive at least one dose of the vaccine and 73 per cent receiving both jabs – slows down with fewer young people receiving the vaccine as expected.
All the evidence so far clearly shows that the link between Covid cases and hospitalisations is being severely weakened due to the rollout of the Covid vaccine. Daily cases continue to fall despite the final lifting of all Covid restrictions in England.
Whilst people can still book to receive their Covid vaccine, the Local NHS Clinical Commissioning Group is also holding a number of daily vaccine walk-in clinics across the Bradford District. There are no appointments required for these walk-in clinics. Anybody over the age of 18 can use these clinics unless it is otherwise stated as some clinics are for people of certain ages because of the type of vaccine being offered. You do not need to have an NHS number or be registered with a GP to receive a vaccine at a walk-in clinic.
Commenting Robbie Moore MP said: “I want to say a huge thank you to all of the NHS staff and volunteers who are working at our vaccine centres across the UK, especially to those at Airedale Hospital who administered by second Covid vaccine.
“I can’t stress enough just how important it is that we all get double jabbed so we can keep infection rates down and protect the most vulnerable in our society. Double vaccinated people are three times less likely than unvaccinated people to test positive from Covid. It is our best source of protection from this terrible virus and has allowed us to reopen our society again.”
“There is daily walk in sessions being held across our area, with no appointment necessary, so if you’re not yet booked in for either your first or second jab, do try one of the walk-in facilities.”
