Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore attended the annual Tewitt Memorial in memory of the six Royal Canadian Air Force men who sadly died on 2 January 1944 when their Wellington Bomber BK 387 crashed into the hillside at Tewitt Lane.
The official memorial service, which takes place annually, was cancelled due to Covid 19, however, people were encouraged to lay wreaths independently β observing social distancing β and pay their respects to the six Royal Canadian Air Force men from RAF Ossington.
Commenting Robbie said: βIt was an honour to mark the occasion and lay a wreath as your MP to remember our Canadian friends. Whilst Covid has posed many challenges this year, it is still important that we pay our respects to the brave service men who gave their lives so we could lead ours. We will remember them.β
