A huge well done to all who took part in today’s Ilkley Carnival- it was absolutely brilliant to see so many incredible costumes all celebrating the forthcoming King and Queen’s Coronation.
The event couldn’t take part without all the fantastic volunteers and the hardworking committee to which we are all hugely grateful. Thank you for all your efforts - you made everyone in the town feel extra special today.
I know it costs approximately £26k to put on the carnival, so thank you to those brilliant Ilkley based businesses who kindly sponsored the event - as well as Rombalds Radio - as the day wouldn’t be able to take place without you.
This years primary beneficiary was the Ilkley Amateur Operatic Society in which the funds will help them to undertake essential repairs to its rehearsal premises and community hub.
