Keighley and Ilkley MP Robbie Moore welcomed Conservative Party Chairman, Amanda Milling MP, to the constituency and took the opportunity to showcase some of its major employers.
Firstly they visited Power Run which supplies equipment to the water and sewage industry in the UK and overseas. Its Chief Executive, Paul Moore, is also Chair of Keighley Made which is a not for profit initiative which brings local businesses together to work for the town and its community. The group hope to have Keighley’s work recognised by the local community and become a focal point for UK manufacturing and support raising aspirations, attracting youth and benefiting the wider community as a whole.
The group then visited Wyedean Weaving Company who manufacture uniforms for the service industry. The company are approved prime contracts for the Ministry of Defence, the British Police Force and their counterparts throughout the world. In addition to the manufacturing of trimmings, the company also provide uniform design, product specifications and contract management.
Robbie said: “I was delighted to welcome the Chairman to the constituency. We have a fantastic manufacturing offer here so it was a great opportunity to show that off.”
